Delhi rape: 'It could happen to any woman', says Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat

Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat has said the uproar caused by the gang rape of a student in Delhi last year had "emboldened" women and encouraged many victims of sexual violence to come forward.

The actress said she was "absolutely horrified" when details of the brutal attack emerged last December.

She told : "It was an assault on every women living in India. It could have happened to me... or any woman."
